01 / Product overview
What is NBR Foam?
NBR foam is a nitrile rubber foam discussed for fuel, hydraulic and oil-exposed industrial seals. Suitability for oil contact depends on the actual medium, temperature, duration and proposed grade.
An NBR seal enquiry starts with the actual oil or fluid, not the word oil-resistant. Contact mode, duration and the counterpart geometry define which grade evidence is relevant to the equipment interface.

02 / Benefits
Key selection considerations
Identify the actual medium
An oil name should be specific enough to locate its product or composition reference. Different fluids cannot be treated as interchangeable simply because both are used in industrial equipment.
Separate splash from sustained contact
An occasional contaminated surface and a joint in continuous contact describe different exposure histories. Include temperature and duration with the medium before comparing an offered grade.
Show the installed seal
The gasket outline, closing gap and surface condition explain where the NBR part will be held. A compatible material record does not by itself establish the assembled sealing result.
03 / Technical specifications
Properties & specifications
Compare the source range with your application requirements.

Source: company-supplied preliminary series information. These values have not been verified against approved grade-specific data sheets, test methods or tolerances. They are not guaranteed supply specifications or purchase acceptance limits.
| Property | Range / Options |
|---|---|
| Formats | sheet, strip, gasket, custom die-cut profile |
| Medium Compatibility | oil and industrial environments |
Ranges vary by grade. Confirm specifications and test methods for your application.
Ask about specifications04 / Formats & construction options
Formats & construction options
These are constructions to discuss, not a stocked range. The offered grade, conversion scope and dimensions are agreed for each enquiry.

Sheets
Specify the stock thickness and sheet dimensions separately from the finished seal. State whether the receiving team or the supplier will convert the stock into parts.

Strips
A strip enquiry needs the intended path, end joints and contact faces. Mark locations where oil can collect or where cleaning changes the contact conditions.

Gaskets
Use a finished outline with apertures and counterpart references. Include the location of fluid contact so the sample represents the relevant seal surfaces.

Custom equipment seals
Show any local features, retention or backing in section. Conversion feasibility and attachment must be assessed for the exposed construction, not assumed from NBR alone.
05 / Applications
Applications of NBR Foam
Match the part geometry and sample question to its intended task.

- 01
Oil-exposed equipment seals
Identify the fluid and the exposed side of the joint, including accumulated liquid or intermittent contamination. Those details determine the scope of compatibility evidence to request.
- 02
Industrial gaskets
Describe the mating parts, available closing space and installation sequence. Keep dimensional fit and exposure acceptance as distinct items in the project brief.
- 03
Automotive equipment interfaces
Locate the seal and identify the actual medium and duty conditions. An automotive application label is not a vehicle approval or evidence of compatibility with every automotive fluid.
06 / Quality & project review
Sample checks for NBR Foam
Agree the drawing, applicable material data and sample requirements for your project.

Fluid and exposure reference
Keep the fluid identity, contact mode, temperature and duration with the evidence request so the report can be checked against the intended use.
Offered NBR grade
Record the proposed grade, thickness and hardness method with the sample. A family-level oil-resistance description is not a substitute for this identity.
Installed gasket geometry
Check holes, edges, contact faces and retention against the equipment drawing. Note which surfaces the sample actually exposes to the medium.
Acceptance separation
Distinguish outline fit from a defined exposure or sealing assessment. Preserve unresolved compatibility requirements instead of signing them off through a dimensional sample.
08 / NBR Foam FAQs
NBR Foam FAQs
Questions to settle before sampling or production.
What is the minimum order for NBR sheets or sealing parts?
Send sheet dimensions and count, strip width and total length, or a sealing-part drawing and piece quantity. Our team will confirm the minimum order for the selected grade and processing requirements.
How do I confirm NBR compatibility with an oil or fluid?
Provide the exact fluid, concentration, contact duration and operating temperature. NBR is considered for oil-exposed seals, but compatibility must be confirmed for the selected grade and service conditions.
Which specifications are needed for an NBR gasket?
Send the sealing gap, compression requirements, finished dimensions and tolerances. Density, hardness and thickness should be selected against the application and checked with a sample.
What should a sample review cover before production?
Check the gasket fit, compression and response to the intended fluid under agreed conditions. Confirm the acceptance criteria and test method with our team before approving the material.
09 / Request a quote
Request a quote for NBR Foam
Attach the seal drawing and identify the actual oil or fluid. Contact mode and exposure conditions are essential to deciding which NBR grade evidence is relevant.
- Fluid identity and available reference document
- Contact mode, duration, temperature and cleaning conditions
- Gasket outline, mating surfaces and installed gap
- Part quantity and separate fit/exposure acceptance needs
