01 / Product overview
What is PU Foam Cushions?
PU foam cushions are polyurethane foam components discussed for office chairs, automotive seats and equipment seating. The cushion is reviewed together with its base, cover and geometry.
A PU cushion is part of a seat assembly, not just a piece of foam at a stated density. The pan, cover and local cushion sections determine how a shaped sample fits; its material test record remains a separate part of the comparison.

02 / Benefits
Key selection considerations
Seat and cover geometry
Show the cushion together with its base and cover, including edge transitions and underside features. A top-view outline cannot establish clearance or cover fit around a contoured seat.
Density versus indentation
Density describes material mass relative to volume. An ILD field describes a defined indentation observation, so it needs its own method and specimen conditions rather than being inferred from density.
Material test versus seat observation
A material specimen and a covered cushion answer different questions. Keep a full-seat fit or comfort observation attached to its pan, cover and evaluation setup.
03 / Technical specifications
Properties & specifications
Compare the source range with your application requirements.

Source: company-supplied preliminary series information. These values have not been verified against approved grade-specific data sheets, test methods or tolerances. They are not guaranteed supply specifications or purchase acceptance limits.
| Property | Range / Options |
|---|---|
| Density | 25–70 kg/m³ |
| Support Metric | 25% ILD 100–350 N/314 cm² |
| Formats | seat cushion, contoured cushion, laminated cushion |
Ranges vary by grade. Confirm specifications and test methods for your application.

Formats & construction options
These are constructions to discuss, not a stocked range. The offered grade, conversion scope and dimensions are agreed for each enquiry.

Flat cushions
Define length, width, thickness and the seat support beneath the pad. A flat sample can establish a starting geometry without representing later contour changes.

Contoured parts
Show front-edge transitions, side regions and underside pockets in section. These features explain how the cushion meets the base and cover.

Molded-cushion proposals
Provide the finished form and relevant counterpart details for a molding discussion. Tooling, inserts and production scope must be agreed rather than inferred from the word molded.

Layered constructions
List layer order, individual geometry and the intended contact face. Bonding or covering is a distinct part of the proposed construction and requires a defined responsibility.
05 / Applications
Applications of PU Foam Cushions
Match the part geometry and sample question to its intended task.

- 01
Office seating
Identify the seat pan, back or seat location, cover and installation orientation. Compare cushion versions within that same assembly rather than by loose-sample feel alone.
- 02
Automotive seating
Show the cushion position and interfaces to the surrounding seat. Vehicle-specific evidence and approval remain separate from a geometric cushion discussion.
- 03
Equipment seating
Describe the seat base, local clearances and attachment. If service access or cleaning affects the construction, include those conditions with the sample definition.
06 / Quality & project review
Sample checks for PU Foam Cushions
Agree the drawing, applicable material data and sample requirements for your project.

Uncovered form
Check outline, local sections and underside features before the cover obscures them, using the identified cushion drawing.
Material and ILD record
Retain the grade, density and complete indentation notation with method and specimen conditions. Do not reinterpret the preliminary force/area notation as installed-seat pressure.
Covered-seat fit
Record the pan and cover versions and observe the assembled cushion, including edges and attachment. Keep any comfort evaluation separate from a dimensional fit acceptance.
Repeatable assembly
Preserve the approved form, layer arrangement and cover/base references. Changing one of these can require another assembled sample even if density stays the same.
08 / PU Foam Cushions FAQs
PU Foam Cushions FAQs
Questions to settle before sampling or production.
What is the minimum order for PU foam cushions?
Send the cushion dimensions or drawing, required piece quantity and whether the cushion is cut, molded or laminated. Our team will confirm the minimum order and any tooling conditions for that construction.
What use conditions are needed to select a seat cushion?
Provide the seating application, user weight range, sitting duration and available cushion thickness. Support and recovery should be assessed with a sample in the intended seat.
How do I choose PU cushion density and ILD?
Specify the required support and feel, finished dimensions and thickness. Review density and 25% ILD together, using an agreed test method and a reference or development sample.
What should I specify for a laminated PU cushion?
Send the foam-layer materials, thicknesses, cover or mesh details and required contour. Confirm the bonded construction, seat fit and comfort with a sample before production.
09 / Request a quote
Request a quote for PU Foam Cushions
Send the cushion drawing with its seat pan and cover. Include the full material-test notation if available and identify what the first assembled sample needs to resolve.
- Cushion outline, local sections and underside features
- Seat pan, cover, orientation and attachment
- Grade, density and complete ILD method/notation
- Quantity, layer arrangement and assembled sample purpose
